kony.

yes. i did donate.
yes. i did research.

their intentions are good but they have some querks to how they're doing it.
i feel as though they have gone against the rules of a "non-profitable" organization.

so... i stopped my donation.
but kept the starter kit.

i don't want to just hand them my money and not get anything in return.
and by getting the starter kit i can at least have a way to make his name known.

even though there are a lot of questionable things about this charity, this guy got his voice heard.
his idea is being shared.
he is making a change.
and i am inspired.

i want my life to be worth something.
i want to help people.
i am a very fornuate person.
i have the resources necessary.
i want to help people.

so instead of donating to a cause where people are paid more than the children are helped, i am giving my money and time to child rescue.

this is my charity.
it is my cause.

why do i love this charity?
  • it helps people in the US
  • better yet, it helps people in my neighborhood
  • i have seen my money in action
  • its also an invisible problem that the world hates to discuss
i am passionate about child rescue.
i love the work they do and the actions they're taking to make the world a better place.

  1. I realized when I watched the video that they must have large amount of expenses. Just the advertising plus things like travel must add up. While I think we would love to see 100% of donations go directly to those in most need and see people volunteering their time, it's not realistic. A large part of their goal is raising awareness so I was not surprised that so much of there money goes toward that end.

Good for you for doing something. You're right - you do have a voice.
